$219.00An instructor led journey to uncover the central and most important elements when entering a confined space. Created by a team experienced in managing confined space entry teams, safety management, and adult education that includes registered teachers and registered safety professionals.
Topics: Through a hands-on, personalized experience, students will be able to recognize confined spaces, the hazards in such spaces, and the means to control these hazards in order to protect themselves.
By the end of day, students will:
- Understand responsibilities
- Understand legislation, jurisdiction and CSA requirements.
- Recognise what a confined space is
- Identify the common hazards found in confined spaces
- Review controls used to manage the hazards
- Perform and review atmospheric monitoring
- Review reasoning behind atmospheric levels, how they are related
- Review historic lessons learnt with confined space events
- Lockout and isolation
- Venting, Purging, inerting of confined spaces
- Do Hands-on use of common entry and rescue systems including
- Tripod
- Winch
- Rope Rescue System
- Ventilation systems
- Gas detection with pump
- Class AE Full body harness
- Spreader bar
- Inspect of entry systems components
- Selection/ fit and use of PPE for confined space
Note – some practical lessons may not be possible to perform on site. In this case instructor will use alternative lesson plans.
